Temple Beth El of Patchogue is a Conservative, egalitarian synagogue of approximately 100 families located on the South Shore of Long Island in Suffolk County. Our members come from both the South Shore (as far as West Babylon) and the North Shore (as far as Port Jefferson) of Long Island as well as from local communities such as Bellport, Sayville, Holbrook and Centereach. We are truly multi-generational and diverse, with members from birth up to and including members in their nineties. We offer something for everyone by meeting our member's needs culturally, spiritually and socially. We are known as the "friendly temple" because within moments of entering our building, you will be greeted by one if not more than one member of our congregation. We understand that a Conservative synagogue may not seem like the right fit for everyone. However, we truly believe that TBE offers a welcoming space for all – regardless of age, marital status, race, ethnicity, level of observance, or ability. LGBTQ families are embraced, as are intermarried Jews and interfaith families. The diverse backgrounds of our members only serve to strengthen our community.
We take pride in knowing that we welcome everyone to be a part of our family.
As we learn that the remaining live hostages have been released, our hearts are filled with both relief and gratitude. As we celebrate their freedom, we also pray for their physical and spiritual healing. And we mourn those hostages who were murdered, send comfort to their bereaved families, and pray that all of their bodies will soon be returned for proper burial and honor.
At Temple Beth El, our commitment to Israel remains steadfast. We stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Israel and with all who seek peace, security, and justice.
May we continue to find strength in one another and in our shared hope for a time when all can live in safety and peace.
Am Yisrael Chai.
