It's easy. Simply contact the office at (631) 475-1882 (or email tbepatchogue@gmail.com) or call Star Wahnon, our Membership Chairperson, at (631)398-2811 . She will answer your questions, take you on a tour and explain the benefits of membership. When you are ready to join us, simply fill out the membership application found below and then Star, or one of our Co-Presidents, Cheryl Gavin and David Stern, will be in touch.

What if I can't afford membership?

No one is turned away for financial reasons. Special new first-time membership programs are available as well as a membership assistance program. When you are ready to discuss finances, if you have a concern, you can have a private and confidential conversation with one of our Co-Presidents, and together you will come up with a plan that works for you and your family.

Do I receive High Holiday tickets with my membership?

Yes! All synagogue members in good standing will receive 2 tickets. Additional tickets may be purchased if needed.

What if I am part of an Interfaith family?

Our goal is to help every family feel comfortable in our congregation, and we warmly welcome interfaith couples and families. A non-Jewish partner or parent can participate in most aspects of Jewish ritual. During a baby naming, or Bar/Bat mitzvah, the non-Jewish parent traditionally joins their spouse and child on the bima. The non-Jewish parent may also deliver an English reading as part of the Bar or Bat Mitzvah service. All are welcome and encouraged to participate in Beth El committee life and events.

Do we have to be a member in order for our child to attend Hebrew School?

Yes, membership is required to attend Temple Beth El’s Hebrew School.  For full information on our re-envisioned educational program, please contact the office at (631) 475-1882 (or email tbepatchogue@gmail.com)
