Shabbat Services are held each Friday evening at 7:30pm and Saturday morning at 9:30am. To learn more about our worship services click here
Temple Beth El of Patchogue is located at 45 Oak Street in Patchogue Village. Free parking is available in the public lot directly across the street from our building. After parking, enter through our Oak Street entrance by walking up the driveway and under our burgundy awning. Once inside, make yourself comfortable and join us. Within minutes, someone will greet you—after all, we are the Friendly Temple!
Judaism teaches that honoring Shabbat (kavod Shabbat) includes preparing ourselves for the holiness of the day, including the clothing we choose to wear. Maimonides teaches that one's Shabbat attire should reflect the special nature of the day, and the Shulchan Aruch encourages us to greet Shabbat as one would greet a king.
In keeping with these values, we ask that those attending worship services dress in business or more formal attire that reflects the dignity and sanctity of our sacred space. While Temple Beth El is a warm and welcoming community, our synagogue is also a place of prayer, and our attire should honor the occasion.
For social events, educational programs, and other congregational activities, casual attire is certainly appropriate. We simply ask that clothing always be respectful and suitable for a house of worship.
Most importantly, everyone is welcome at Temple Beth El. We never want concerns about attire to prevent anyone from joining us in prayer or participating in the life of our congregation. Our hope is simply that, together, we honor the holiness of our synagogue and the spirit of Shabbat through the way we present ourselves.
Our entrance, sanctuary and social hall are wheelchair accessible as are our bathrooms.
Children are always welcome at Temple Beth El. We are a multigenerational congregation and are delighted to have families worship with us.
