Rabbi Pardo

Temple Beth-El of Patchogue welcomed Rabbi Ilan Pardo as our new Spiritual Leader as of September 2022!

Rabbi Pardo joined Temple Beth-El of Patchogue after serving in a variety of education and congregational leadership roles in Virginia synagogues since the year 2000.  Most recently, Rabbi Pardo served as the Spiritual Leader at Congregation Sons of Israel in Chambersburg, PA.

Originally from Israel, Rabbi Pardo has lived in Africa, Asia, and Europe. He has traveled extensively and speaks several languages fluently. Rabbi Pardo has four children, Andrew, Alberto, Nadia, who are adults, and Rebecca who had her Bat Mitzvah recently. He moved to Long Island with his wife, Neia, and youngest daughter, Rebecca.

Both in the synagogue, and in the larger community, Rabbi Pardo is committed to outreach and inclusion. His religious services are full of enthusiasm and are designed to engage the members of a Jewish community comprised of many backgrounds and traditions.  As well, Rabbi Pardo is passionate about Judaism and Jewish education for children and adults alike. He believes that building a strong Hebrew language curriculum is an important element of learning about our religion and heritage.

Rabbi Pardo is an avid supporter of Israel – the biblically mandated homeland of the Jewish people – and its eternal capital, Jerusalem. His advocacy for Israel and support for American solidarity with Israel is consistent through good times and bad. Having served three years in the Israeli Defense Forces as a Military Police Officer, Rabbi Pardo has first-hand experience of meaning, emotions and implications for a Jewish person residing in the modern State of Israel, the Holy Land of our ancestors.

Rabbi Pardo is available to meet with congregants and visitors alike for religious guidance and spiritual counseling.

His motto is: "Be kind to the world and its inhabitants."|
